Door : One Hour fire resistant flush and glazed doors to BS 459; part 3.                                                                                                     Core : Hardwood perimeter sub frame with 48mm thick flaxboard of minimum density of 450KG/m3 – Softwood framing 65mm x 48mm to perimeter with extra hardwood rail to top of door.                                                                                                                                 Facings : 3mm Mendeboard with 0.6mm veneer to both faces as clause 065 C.                                                                                  Lippings : 6mm thick lipping on all four edges.                                                                                                                                              Glazing Detail : Bead detail as drawing 13. Pyroshield : Georgian wired polished plate safety glass to BS 952.                                          Finish as Delivered : Pre-catalysed lacquer.                                                                                                                                                   Frame and Architraves : Meranti hardwood to BS 1186 part 1 Appendix C Class 2. Door : One Hour fire resistant flush and glazed doors to BS 476; part 22 : 1987.
Core : Inner layer horizontal oriented 15mm thick x 28mm wide lamels at
600KG/m3 nominal density – Outer layer vertically oriented 13.5mm thick x 45mm wide lamels 200 – 300KG/m3 stated density.
Facings : Hardwood plywood 6mm thick 520 – 530 KG/m3 stated density.
Lippings : 10mm to 18mm thick hardwood 640KG/m3 nominal density lipping on two or four edges.
Glazing Detail : Bead detail as drawing 10, hardwood glazing beads and pre glazed using 6mm Pyroshield (Georgian wired polished plate safety glass) to BS 952.
Finish as Delivered : Pre-catalysed lacquer.
Frame : European redwood to BS 1186 part 1 or 2. OR Meranti hardwood to BS 1186 part 1 Appendix C Class 2.
Moisture Content on Delivery : 12% +/- 2.

Architectural Doorsets Ltd Glazing Beads To Doors.

Type : Rebated as shown on drawings.
The beads to one side of the door to be mitred and fixed.
The beads on the other side of the door to be mitred, fitted loose for fixing after glazing by doorset supplier.
Concealed faces of the glazing beads coated with intumescent paint, for half hour fire resistant door only.

Door : Half hour fire resistant flush and glazed doors to BS 4591;part 3.
Core : Softwood perimeter frame to BS 1186 part 1, minimum width of stiles and bottom rail 65mm, minimum width of top rail 65mm. Core to be solid flaxboard high density of no less than 350KG/m.
Facings : 0.6mm veneered 3mm Mendeboard to both faces as clause 065 C.
Lippings : 6mm thick ramin lippings on two or four edges.
Glazing Details : Bead detail as drawing no 5, hardwood glazing beads and pre glazed using 6mm Pyroshield (Georgian wired polished plate safety glass) to BS 952.
Finished as Delivered : Pre catalysed lacquer.
Frame : European redwood to BS 1186 part 1 or 2. OR Meranti hardwood to BS 1186 part 1 Appendix C Class 2.

Architectural Doorsets Ltd Door Veneers.

To be of crown cut selected quality, with the evenness of colour and free from all blemishes.
Not more than eight widths to be allowed in a door facing width (standard 826mm).
All joints to be matched for grain pattern and colour and carefully selected to make joints unobtrusive without ‘fantail’ grain or other emphasis.
Double doors as far as possible to be matched in pairs for grain, colour and pattern.

Door : None fire resistant flush and glazed doors to BS 476; part 22 : 1987.
Core : 3 layers of lamels lain in alternate directions – grooved to accept the stiles and rails.
Facings : 4mm thick plywood, minimum density 650KG/m3 or 6mm thick plywood, minimum density 6510KG/m3 or 6mm MDF, minimum density 750KG/m3 or 9mm MDF, minimum density 710 – 760KG/m3 or 9mm chipboard, minimum density 500 – 650KG/m3.
Lippings : 6mm to 18mm, minimum density 640KG/m3.
Glazing Details : Bead detail as drawing 10.

Where beech, ash, American white oak or sapele are selected they shall be to BS 1186 part 1 Appendix C Class 2.
Moisture Content on Delivery : 12% +/- 2.
Beads to glazed openings shall be in the same species as the veneer.
Tolerance : Thickness 0 / -1mm, Height 0 / -2mm, Width 0 / -2mm.

Architectural Doorsets Ltd Acoustic Performance

Where doors are indicated as having an acoustic performance the standard shall be :

Rw (dB) 35dB for entrance doors to music and drama teaching accommodation.                                                                                         Rw (dB) 30dB for entrance doors to standard teaching accommodation. 

Doorsets shall have acoustic seals. Doors shall have cores solid laminate for serve duty with exposed lippings.                                     The doors supplier shall provide documentary evidence to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations and verify the acoustic performance of the doorset.
